Wu Dunru

Wu Dunru (武敦儒}, is a fictional character in ''The Return of the Condor Heroes'', a novel written by Chinese author Jinyong. He is the younger son of Wu Santong .

Wu Dunru learned the skills of Yi Yang Finger from his father Wu Santong, who was a disciple of Reverend Yideng .

Life


Wu Dunru is the younger son of Wu Santong and Wu Sanniang. After his mother died of poisioning from sucking the poison out from his father, who was poisioned by Li Mochou , Wu Santong turned insane and ran away, leaving him and his younger brother Wu Xiuwen to fend for themselves. However, he and his elder brother went under the care of Guo Jing and Huang Rong . There, he get to know their daughter Guo Fu and fell in love with her. However, his younger brother Wu Xiuwen fell in love with her also and became his love rival.

When Yang Guo (楊過) came under the care of Guo Jing also, he ganged up with Wu Xiuwen and Guo Fu to bully him.

In the Battle of Xiangyang, in order to impress Guo Fu, he and Wu Xiuwen went out individually on their own to try to assassinate the Mongol Khan to end the war. He was defeated, as like his brother, by the Mongols and captured. Subsequently, he was released by the Mongols when Guo Jing and Yang Guo came to rescue him and Wu Xiuwen.

In a final fight with Wu Xiuwen, the loser will have to give up Guo Fu, he and Wu Xiuwen were tricked by Yang Guo into believing that Guo Jing and Huang Rong had betrothed Guo Fu to Yang Guo. This causes them to give up the fight and reconciled. Also, they decided to give up Guo Fu as they believed she was betrothed to yang Guo Already. Shortly after the fight, he and Wu Xiuwen was reunited with his father, Wu Santong, who was attracted by the sound of fighting.

Subsequently, he will meet Yelu Yan , fell in love with her and married her in the end.
